중국 서부대개발 정책의 평가와 전망

Abstract

This paper focuses on the social changes of the West Region in the period of 1999&#8212

2008, and evaluates the performance on the economic aggregate, the speed of economic growth, structure, standard of living and infra-structure construction of the West Regions. China have achieved about 10% growth in annual average after the economic reform in 1978. This performing owes much to the successful reform of incentive system. But the rapid growth have made several problems. One of the most serious problems in recent Chinese economy is unequality between regions, especially between eastern and western regions. To solve this problem, Chinese government established western region developmental program. If this program would be performed as planned, it should be needed enormous investment and there will be created huge consumption markets. So much of foreign investors and corporations have concerns to this program and many Korean corporations are too. It is expected that this project would provide new chance for Korea to invest for construction of infra-structure and to expand export. But to realize this chance, it is needed to establish more progressive and long-ranged strategy, such as thorough pre-investigation, more closed localization, improvement of managemental structure, elevation of effectiveness, and so on.
