| dc.description.abstract | This paper is intended as a case study on how to effectively maintain the major equipment of container terminal in Busan. One of great concerns in container terminals is optimizing the preventive maintenance(PM), emergency and corrective maintenance(EM & CM) with the objective of minimizing maintenance costs. In order to know the actual status of equipment maintenance in container handling operation, the actual maintenance data in Busan container terminals for two years in 2007 and 2008 have been analyzed statistically. And the interaction of equipment maintenance KPI(Key performance Indicator) such as MMBF, PM, EM, and Breakdown ratio(%) is obtained. By using the analysed data, the important factor for effective maintenance of equipment in terms of maintenance costs, manpower, major failures, KPI and so on will be proposed. In conclusion, an optimal maintenance of major equipment and a effective maintain method by using case study results will be suggested in Busan container terminal. | - |
