dc.description.abstract This study aims to explore the impact of maritime technology on regional economy in China and uncover its association and mechanisms. By employing VAR model, Granger causality test, cointegration analysis, and coupling analysis model, this study conducted a comprehensive investigation on the coupling relationship between maritime technology and regional economy, using an empirical approach to reveal the influence of maritime technology on the regional economy. The chosen research methods and models in this study aim to comprehensively investigate the relationship between maritime technology and regional economy in Chinese coastal provinces. The VAR model is used to analyze their dynamic causal relationship, while the Granger causality test validates the association between specific indicators. The cointegration test examines their long-term stability, and the coupling analysis model evaluates the degree of coupling and coordination. These methods provide valuable insights for policy decision-making and regional economic growth. Firstly, a VAR model was constructed to analyze the dynamic relationship between maritime technology and regional economic indicators and investigate the existence and direction of causality. The results of the Granger causality test confirmed the statistically significant bidirectional causal relationship between them. Subsequently, cointegration analysis was applied to verify the long-term stability relationship between maritime technology and regional economy, further confirming their interdependence and long-term impact. Next, cointegration analysis was applied to examine the existence of a long-term stable relationship between maritime technology and regional economy. This step helped confirm their interdependence and long-term impact. Appropriate econometric models were used to estimate the cointegration relationship and robustness tests were conducted to ensure the reliability of the research findings. To evaluate the coupling degree and coordination among different provinces, the coupling analysis model was utilized to calculate and analyze maritime technology indicators and regional economic indicators. Through temporal analysis, the trends in coupling degree and coupling coordination were observed and explained in relation to regional economic development and maritime technology. Based on the research findings, the following conclusions can be drawn: there exists a Granger causal relationship and long-term stable relationship between maritime technology and regional economy. The influence of regional economy on maritime technology is slightly greater than the influence of maritime technology on regional economy. Through the analysis of coupling degree and coupling coordination, variations in the coupling degree among different provinces were found, with some provinces exhibiting high coupling coordination, indicating a more coordinated development between maritime technology and regional economy. The significance of this study lies in deepening the understanding of the relationship between regional economy and maritime technology in China's coastal provinces. From an academic perspective, this study provides empirical research in this field, filling knowledge gaps in the relevant literature. From a practical standpoint, the research findings offer valuable reference and suggestions for policymakers and decision-makers to promote regional economic development and optimize policy decisions. Finally, an analysis was conducted from economic, political, policy, and historical perspectives. It is believed that the development of maritime technology plays a crucial role in the regional economy, and in turn, the development of the regional economy provides a favorable environment for maritime technology. At the political level, the advancement of maritime technology contributes to enhancing the maritime strength and international competitiveness of China's coastal provinces. From a policy standpoint, it is recommended to strengthen support and investment in maritime technology to promote the synergistic development of regional economy and maritime technology. Additionally, the influence of historical factors on the relationship between regional economy and maritime technology was emphasized, providing a more comprehensive perspective for a deeper understanding of this relationship. In conclusion, this study, through the application of VAR model and statistical testing methods, reveals the relationship between maritime technology in China's coastal provinces and regional economy, and provides valuable reference and suggestions for relevant decision-making. It holds significant implications for deepening the understanding of regional economic development in China's coastal provinces and the role of maritime technology in driving it. -
