dc.description.abstract Although structures are designed to withstand wind load, earthquake load, and various loading conditions, damage would be accumulated in the structures due to fatigue, deterioration, and unexpected load with time. Since accumulated damages in structural members give fatal impact to the whole structure, it is important to detect damage in early stage to prevent destruction of entire structure. In case of offshore structure, the accumulated damage by fatigue due to wind or wave load may cause problem in safety or serviceability. In this study, two damage detection techniques for the jacket structure are presented. These methods utilize dynamic properties such as resonant frequencies or mode shapes. The feasibility and applicability of the methods are investigated through numerical example and experimental data. The results show that the two methods detect successfully damage in jacket structure. -
