Abstract
This thesis deals with a study on the development of integrated sensor for diagnosing the condition of power facilities installed inside closed-switchboards.

Series arc discharge in incomplete connection and partial discharge by insulation degradation and electrical concentration are the major causes of accidents in closed-switchboards.

Ultraviolet and electromagnetic wave, accompanied by arc and corona discharge occurrence, were chosen as parameters. In order to simulate the discharge, an UL1699-regulated arc generator and five types of electrode system were fabricated.

According to the experimental result, the valid range of UV was 210nm∼400nm while that of radiated electromagnetic waves was 150kHz∼400MHz and 150kHz∼160MHz respectively upon the occurrence of series arc and corona discharge.

From the results of spectrum analysis, the optimal detection range of UV was 210nm∼400nm while that of radiated electromagnetic wave was 0.1MHz∼10MHz. Also, the system was designed and fabricated to detect heat and smoke, generated by discharges.

The hybrid sensor system was designed and fabricated to analyze the possible accidents theoretically and to monitor the conditions of electrical equipments in closed-switchboards accordingly.
