Over the last few years, the world has witnessed the rapid development of cruise industry. Today people start to exploit the Asian market through a new traveling concept offered by cruise tourism.

As neighboring countries, China, Japan, and South Korea exchange their cultures quite often. Nowadays, a one-week trip based on China's port to Japan and South Korea is the center of cruise economy for all three countries. Meanwhile, the cruise economy also booms largely in Japan and South Korea thanks to their ports of call. Further developments would be made continuously if China, Japan, and South Korea cooperate with each other and rely on the mature coastal cruise industry in internal Japan.

The documents relevant to the whole system of cruise industry are very limited because it's an emerging industry in China, Japan, and South Korea. Therefore, this thesis begins with the development history of the cruise industry in China, Japan, and South Korea and illustrates the current status including the liner fleet and port, the market scale and the national policy by adopting PEST method analyzing the macro-environment of three countries cruise politically, economically, socially and technically. Furthermore, it will stimulate the continuous growth of the economy in Northeast Asia through developing the cruise industry in South Korea and its regional economy.
