dc.description.abstract After the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century, human civilization has developed. Logistics that wasn't needed in the age of the self- sufficiency. is getting important today. Especially a harbor is carrying out the vital role as the beginning and final destination of a distribution industry. The harbor is the place not only to connect the land. and the sea but also to contrive a subsidiary enterprise related to the harbor. The harbor development like this contributes to the growth of the national economy as well as to the development of the harbor city. So the role of a harbor makes a great contribution to the countries that depend on the international trading so much. The fast-growing economy in China is recently making Chinese harbors the world harbors and moving a center of logistics from Europe to the Northeast Asia. That makes each countries realize how important a hub-port is to survive in the logistics world. So many harbors compete with others for the hub-port, which causes excessive competition. Dandong seaport, which has a short history in harbor development, has not catch up with Dalian seaport in the way of cargo and harbor facilities. Also , Dandong seaport doesn't have Port Authority and the public image is low. On the other hand, despite the short history, Dandong seaport has been supplied by the Chinese government and is very close to Korea . Dandong seaport also rushes to the hub-port with Dalian seaport in the Northeast China. As mentioned ,Dalian seaport and Dandong seaport is very similar in the geographical position and has the same goal to become the hub-port in the Northeast China. So the proposals can be described by the conclusion. First of all , the container facility should be built and expanded as soon as possible. In recent years, the role of the Dandong port has been increasingly important as one of the major export ports in the eastern coast. and it is also important as the gate port to meet the increasing demand of Korea in logistic fields. Accordingly, it is the proper time to emphasis on the Dandong port expansion and early completion. Secondly, the privatization of the port and the inducement of the fund from private side should be considered seriously. Thirdly, the regional innovation system and industrial clustering policy with relevant to the Dandong port should be developed in order to meet the competitiveness of rapid environmental change. Finally, the port should be connected the tour industry very tightly. And the environmental friendly port facility is essential to meet the demand of the citizen as the water front space in the 21st century. -
