Domestically and externally, the importance of an allied industry through logistics is increasing and the port industry, as a key industry, is an important factor which decides national competitiveness
The ensuring competitive superiority in logistic business can be summarized to the issues of service level elevation and saving of expenses but there is the limitation for saving of expenses therefore an elevation of a service level is recognized as an important factor making a decision of competitiveness to both supplier and buyer.
Hence, this research presented the present problems, its solutions and service elevation factor, etc. by analyzing the task processes and bilateral circular causation between shipping company and port service providing company subject to the port service business which was provided in the port.
A service relationship between shipping company and port service providing company is not a simple relationship called suppliers and buyers and have special characteristics to buy the utility and the values which was provided by the services not buying service itself while having most persistence.
For sound development and enhancement of competitiveness of our port service industry:-
First, enhance competitiveness keeping proper scales of business structure by unification and co-operation between port services providing companies.
Second, cluster between port services providing companies are able to enhance customer service level and to save logistic costs by enlargement of facilities scale and accumulation of similar & different kind industries.
Third, the key factor of the service business is the human resources, thus it is required to develop and operate a common training programme.
I hope that this research shall be used as a material to help for making organic network formation between shipping company and port service providing company.
