Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a vibration compensator that damps the guide force moment (H&X moments) generated by the ship’s main engine.

Structure analysis is performed on the gear part which exerts the greatest load when driving. As a result, the maximum equivalent stress generated was 175.7 MPa, and the safety factor was 5 or more compared to the yield stress of the hull material with a yield stress of 980 MPa, so the result was sufficiently safe in structure. Also to prevent material deformation and destruction due to resonance, a resonance frequency region through a resonance frequency measurement test is identified, and a resonance risk generated during driving is verified by structural interpretation based on the modeling of the vibration compensator. The natural frequency of the higher-order vibration compensator ranges from 163.6 to 340.5 Hz, avoiding areas in the 30 Hz and 780 Hz bands from the TEST measurement results, and thus showing sufficient structural safety results.
