Abstract
A new wave of changes caused by the 4th industrial revolution, smartization, and digital transformation is having a great impact on our economic and social environment and conditions.
Autonomous driving not only replaces the labor shortage due to the entry into an aging society and a decrease in the productive labor force, reduces traffic accidents among elderly transport workers, increases road safety, and reduces traffic congestion, but also reduces carbon dioxide emissions through efficient driving It is known to provide many benefits to society.
In addition, autonomous driving could become one of the potential solutions being considered in many countries, and the implementation of this technology in the logistics and transportation industry could lead to fundamental changes in management, transaction structure, and employment environment. Therefore, this study intends to investigate the perception of freight transport workers when introducing autonomous driving freight trucks in the transport industry centered on manned drivers and the plan for win-win growth with the advent of the autonomous driving period.
In this paper, a survey was conducted to investigate the perception level of freight drivers following the introduction of unmanned autonomous driving trucks. As a result of the response of 88 valid respondents out of 104 participants, 66 people (75%) had an impact on the adoption of autonomous vehicles, showing that the awareness of the introduction of autonomous vehicles was above average.
Through this, this study shows that the problem of aging freight drivers, win-win measures when operating autonomous vehicles, securing alternative jobs, infrastructure support, and government policy support must be prepared in a timely manner.
