On the assumption that currently the rise of the sea level in coastal area, several research about the inundation vulnerability are treated in different ways. The propose of this study is to find out the influence of high sea level caused by global warming in coastal area, specially the region Yeong-do as the research subject, and to suggest solution approaches for the damage types. Therefore, a potential rate of rise in sea level is assumed and with this data the flood damage is mapped in the real situation. With this virtual map this work attempts to be used for making preparations of the several practical measures and furthermore for establishing an urban planning.
These research purposes show in a part of the second chapter the rise of sea level and it is searched for the effect on the human life in coastal area. Accordingly the solution approaches are classified into three types. On this foundation the geographical problems of the selected area, Yeong-do, as the research object of flooding vulnerability are found in the third chapter and forecasted the real flooding situation in three-dimensional. In addition the explanation and the supplement points about the map is mentioned, which is made with this process, and then is suggested, how this map will be used in reality. In the last chapter the region Yeong-do is subdivided into four small parts and individual solution approaches for each area are suggested.
