Abstract
A design study was performed on the torpedo-shaped underwater glider which can control the orientation using a weight shifter and buoyancy engine. An analysis on the structure of the glider was performed. The size of the glider was designed to have weight a little over the buoyancy and the shape of the hull was designed using Myring profile to reduce down the drag force. Also, the stress and strain analysis was performed. The interior parts of the glider including electronic components was designed. An analysis on the posture of the underwater glider was performed. In addition to this, the dynamics analysis in the underwater glider was performed with a numerical analysis.
