In crisis within the shipping & port environment, the industry’s competitiveness factors are diversely changing, so in order to achieve competitiveness in the industry, it is a necessary prerequisite to educate and utilize human resources.
Until now, the scope of human resources demand prospect was comparable broad, so it didn’t satisfy the demands for developing a specific human resources education policy, and this was the generally accepted idea. The meaning of this study is in that it subdivided the shipping & port logistics industry into various types of business and attempted to forecast the demand for human resources.
this study examined the variables influencing demand for human resources based on the trend of past data and forecasted demand for the new labor force. We investigated the new labor force supplied in the current industry and analyzed the difference of supply & demand. Based on such analysis, we will like to suggest an efficient plan for the supply of labor force to maintain the balance of quantity & quality and evenness.
