Abstract
In this paper, a methodology for estimating the parameters of non-linear system including stabilizing system(Night Vision Pedestal System) was presented. To deal with optimization problems occurring regarding parameter estimation, a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA) is used. The parameters of the pedestal system are estimated using both the model technique and a RCGA.

The performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated through some simulation.
